Program Objective:
General objective – to produce qualified and self employable professionals in the field of animal sciences and cultivate research oriented and competent professionals for research centers, Universities, ministries and nongovernmental organizations.
Specific objectives – the specific objectives of the program are to:
- produce competent animal sciences professionals who could serve as experts and entrepreneurs;
- produce professionals who carry out extension activities in animal sciences
- participate in animal sciences research activities;
- develop responsible, dedicated, hard working, accurate and team working professionals with positive attitude to rural development ;
- produce professionals who can give consultative services to solve animal related problems for various community groups;
- produce professionals who have technical innovation in animal sciences development;
- produce innovative graduates with good professional ethics and responsibility to work towards national development goals.
Admission requirements
- Successful completion of the 10+2 preparatory program with Natural Science background,
- Advance standing placement for holders of diploma in animal science and/or related fields who meet the criteria set by the department,
- Special admission, admission as part-time students, admission for students with general certificate of education equivalent to the preparatory program and students who seek to transfer from other higher learning institutions of equivalent standard to the program may be granted admission provided that they meet the respective admission criteria of the department, and
- All other requirements of the university & pass points in entrance exam.
Graduation requirement – the student:
- Should take a minimum of 181 ECTS (111 credits); a minimum CGPA & MGPA of 2.00; and No “F” grade in any course.
