Study Language: English
Credits and the equivalent ECTS: ECTS – 313 or 165 Cr.hr
Mode of delivery: Regular and Extension
Program Objective
General Objectives
- Train Biomedical Engineers who can design, develop, install, operate, and maintain biomedical equipments and improve healthcare system in the country.
- Train Biomedical Engineers to carry out research in the areas of biomedical engineering which are particularly relevant to the needs of the Country.
Specific Objectives
- Engage students in technical activities to support the health care system and emerging industries;
- prepare graduates with the capability to follow the current and future developments in the field and related applications;
- Enable graduates to work as a team in addressing technical problems which may be encountered in real life and health care system;
- Provide graduates with sufficient background to undertake postgraduate training in related specialized areas of biomedical engineering.
Admission requirements:
- Regular – the basic admission criterion for regular program is successful completion of the common first semester pre-engineering program, subject to possible screening on the basis of academic performance.
- Evening – the admission criterion for extension program is similar to other engineering extension programs at the AAiT and in addition to this common requirement, the applicant must have been employed by a healthcare institution (hospital, clinic, etc) as a biomedical technician for a minimum of two years.
- Advanced Standing – in both the regular and evening programs, limited seats are available for applicants with Diploma in Biomedical Technology and two years of relevant experience. The course list for exemption is prepared on a case by case basis depending of the courses taken in a prior study program.
Graduation requirement:
- Total ECTS of 313 course work without “F” grade in any course;
- CGPA and MGPA of at least 2.0;
- Fulfill the Industry Attachment requirement; and
- BSc Thesis as partial fulfillment for B.Sc. degree.
