Toward meeting the vision and goals of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa University has been working on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment activities since 2004. The major activities of AAU-HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office (AAU-HAPCO) include capacity building, modeling and reinforcement activities, HIV/AIDS mainstreaming; organizing outreach events, and strengthening clinical activities. AAU-HAPCO is located at the main campus of the university and operates its activities in all campuses of AAU. Currently, the HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities of the university are led by a director and senior officers.
