Brief Biography

Dr. Yonas Tilahun is a Consultant Ophthalmologist who has specialized in Cornea and Cataract. Dr. Yonas earned his medical doctorate degree from Addis Ababa university medical college and completed his Ophthalmology residency at the same university. He did his subspecialty sandwich fellowship training in Cornea at Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina, USA.

Dr. Yonas has been teaching resident doctors for more than 20 years now. His main focus is on medical and surgical management of corneal diseases and Cataract. His clinical practice and research have focused on corneal transplantation and in variety of surgical treatment of cataract.

In the past he has served as chairman of the department and as the first medical director of the Eye Bank of Ethiopia.
