Brief Biography
Dr. Meseret Ejigu Kassa is a consultant Ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Menelik II Referral Hospital and holds the rank of assistant professor at the School of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University. Currently he is also the post graduate program coordinator in the department and chairman of Ophthalmology residency program coordinators of Ethiopia. Following a Medical Doctorate degree from Jimma University in 2004, he completed residency training in Ophthalmology at University of Nairobi, Kenya in 2011. After 2 years of service in Hawassa University and Addis Ababa university department of Ophthalmology, he completed his multicenter subspecialty training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at Ludwig Maximilian University (Germany), Duck Eye center (USA) and Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (Nepal). Since 2012, his clinical practice and research have focused on Periocular plastic and reconstructive surgery, Treatment of Tearing, Management of eyelid and Orbital tumors, Socket reconstruction and periocular Cosmetic surgeries.
