Brief Biography

Professor Abebe Bejiga is a consultant pediatrics Ophthalmologist at Menelik II Referral Hospital and holds the rank of professor at the School of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University. Following a Medical Addis Ababa University, he completed residency training in Ophthalmology at Addis Ababa University. He then went to a hands on subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatrics Ophthalmology at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey, USA. At the department of Ophthalmology, Professor Abebe is also serving in the different committees of the department and was also department head.

Professor Abebe is the first professor of Ophthalmology in Ethiopia.
