The aim of the program is to produce highly qualified medical laboratory technologist and clinical laboratory scientists who after graduation would be able to teach effectively in higher institutions, undertake problem-oriented research, manage laboratories and serve as consultants in the area of clinical laboratory sciences.

The Department of Medical Laboratory Science has one undergraduate and another postgraduate program (four streams).
