Available Programs
Available programs at the Center for Development Studies include:
- MSc in Population Studies – This program has three tracks including Reproductive Health, Technical Demography, and Population and Development. This program is currently under revision, and as of the 2023/24 A. Y., it will be replaced by a single track program, namely, MSc in Population Studies program.
To apply for admission to the program, applicants should have a degree in any one of the following: Demography/Population studies, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Sociology, Geography, Public Health, Development Studies, Environmental Studies, Anthropology, Social Work, and related fields.
- PhD in Population Studies – In 2020/21, the Center has launched a PhD program.
Admission requirements to the PhD program include
- Master’s Degree in Demography/Population Studies, Economics, Sociology, Statistics, Mathematics, Geography and Environmental Studies, Public Health, Gender Studies, Development Studies and related fields with a thesis grade of at least ‘Very Good’.
- Presentation of a sound preliminary PhD research proposal to be assessed and accepted by the Centre’s Graduate Council (CGC)
- Strong recommendation letters from two referees; academic and employer
- Outstanding performance in the entrance examination
- Willingness to participation in the Centre’s academic and research activities
- Female applicants who fulfil the minimum requirement will be given privileges
Admission to this program is highly competitive, and the center accepts only between 3 to 8 applicants each year.
