Research and Publications
The Center strives to serve as a hub for research in environment and sustainable development, tourism development and management as well as water resource management. The research areas identified currently are the most relevant for the stage of socioeconomic development of Ethiopia. The research works have been addressing different development issues in the country mainly in helping policymakers and development planners to make informed decisions. The common environment-development, tourism development and management as well as water resource management issues addressed by the various research projects include Environmental Management for Sustainable Development, Integrated Natural Resources Management, Climate Change and Adaptation Mechanisms, Water Resources Planning and Management, Water Resources and Development, Valuation and Mapping of Tourism Resources, and Tourism Product Development. The research projects run by the staff of the Center are diverse and multidisciplinary in nature, which thus constitute synergy in development. The research results have also been reported in book chapters, journal articles, and conference proceedings.
