A number of participants forwarded their views following the speeches and presentations delivered by senior officials of the University including the Interim President Samuel Kifle (PhD).
The most catching view was the video message that Mrs. Meaza Ashenafi, former president for the Federal Supreme Court of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) that highlighted how the legal service through the School of Law and other stakeholders would be possibly nurtured and practiced with justified actions in the entire society of Ethiopia and beyond.
Meaza focused on her view that intensifying the preparedness of legal education in the School to address and enhance the rule of law; how law scholars individually and collectively could manage the contribution of the rule of law in the country; the quality of students, teachers and the curriculum; neutrality and objectivity of the law curriculum; the importance of balance between theory and practise in legal education based on qualitative and quantitative intensive research; etc.
Others also collectively forward their feelings that include the question of language medium in legal education verses it’s being changed by local language in the practical situation in the society, lack of inclusion for minorities and disabilities, the need of legal and social justice reform, the question of autonomizing its budget and the like.
