Integrated Digital Health Management System inaugurated @ Black Lion Hospital

Addis Ababa University in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology inaugurated Digital Health Management System at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital on May 3, 2018.

Implementation of the system is that advocate providing unmatched knowledge and a proven track record in guiding the hospital and its patients on the road to better and speedy services replacing manually intensive tasks and use of paper and spreadsheets.

In his welcome address Professor Tassew W/ Hanna, President of Addis Ababa University, stated that from every corner of the country over five hundred thousand patients come to Tikur Anbessa Specialized hospital for treatment annually.

 “Automation of the health management system improves overall services and customer satisfaction,” said the president in statement.

Dr. Getahun Mekuriya, Minister, Ministry of Science and technology, stated that implementation of the system avoids using traditional paper-based, manual processes and patient caseloads on spreadsheets as well.

The systems also, said the minister, improves data collection, reporting advancement and healthcare.

Dr. Dawit Wondmagegn, Chief Executive Director of the College of Health Sciences, AAU, commending the Ministry of Science and Technology noted that introduction of the system significantly helps the hospital shift from relying on manual data system to automated, which provides actionable insight to make effective changes.

The ceremony was held at College of Health Sciences, AAU in the presence of government official and senior staff of the university.
