Girls’ Club of Natural and Computational Sciences Discuses on its Future

A Girls’ Club, established by students learning in Addis Ababa University, College of Natural and Computational Sciences (CNCS) organized a discussion program to deal with concerned bodies regarding its future at Art Kilo Campus on the 31st of August 2021.

Mesfin Kifle (PhD), Associate Dean at CNCS, stated in the program that the college has been strongly committed to initiate, empower and support the Girls’ Club beginning from its establishment ten years ago with a purpose of social interaction and sharing ideas to create new concepts through exchange of knowledge.

The Girls’ Club enables female students of the College understand their rights, responsibilities, general academic life styles in the college, how to establish strong relationships with the administration and other related bodies throughout their stay in the College, Dr. Mesfin stated.

According to Dr. Mesfin, the College always stands with the Club to support female students working in collaboration with the Gender Office focusing on academic experience sharing for the betterment of their future.

Professor Alemtsehay Mekonnen, who served the Club with higher responsibility for ten years, shared her experience and advised the participants to be modest and humble, respect and love each other, try to know again and again, and be good Citizens.

Tsedenya Solomon, former student of Biology and now masters program student, and Sosina Bayu from the department of statics, advised the new entries to participate in different clubs and scale up their talents and empower themselves through open communication using their time efficiently.
