AAU Signs Partnership with Myungsung Medical College
Addis Ababa University (AAU) College of Health Sciences (CHS) and Myungsung Medical College (MMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on various tasks, at AAU President’s Office today, 28th of January 2021.
“Addis Ababa University, particularly College of Health Sciences, is striving for quality medical education and services. The efficiency and quality of medical services and education can be improved through trustful partnership by focusing on ‘medical excellence’ in the country.”
As stated in the agreement, AAU and MMC would get supports from each other on medical education, staff capacity building programs, facilitating international and national research collaboration and others with expectations to get a ‘Win-Win’ model of partnership by this agreement.
The cooperation between the two parties will specifically focus on medical teaching (training), medical research, exchange of staff and students, cooperative patient management and staff development.
“This MoU shall remain in place for a period of five (5) years from the date of the last signature with the understanding that either party giving a written notice to the other party in any year may terminate it. The agreement may be extended or amended by the mutual consent of the two parties.”
Professor Tassew Weldehanna, President of AAU, on the side of the University and Professor Kwang Chul Kim, Dean of MMC, representing the College, signed the agreement.
Myungsung MedicalCollege (MMC) also called “the Korean Hospital” was constructed with the intention of thanking the Ethiopian people for their ancestors’ courage and sacrifice due to the unforgettable and historical Korean War (1950-1953) which created a deep friendship between two countries.
