AAU plans to strengthen University-Industry linkage

University-Industry-Linkage (UIL) and technology transfer office and Deliverology unit, Associate Dean for Technology Transfer and Students Dean of the AAU jointly convened a one-day workshop titled ‘Creating Strong Partnership through University-Industry Linkage and Internship Program’ on May 15, 2018 at Eshatu Chole Hall.

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together group of researchers to share ideas, experience, receive comments from distinguished scholars in the field and explore ways forward to enhance university-industry linkage.

University-industries linkage is critical for skills development, quality education, adoption of knowledge and the promotion of entrepreneurship, said Prof. Tassew Woldehanna, AAU President, the AAU shifted its core area of emphasis towards research and technology transfer.

“The university works diligently to improve quality education and strengthen collaboration between university and industry,” added the president.

Various research papers among others: Impact of Internship Program on Engineering and Technology Education in Ethiopia; Modalities of Partnership between Universities and Financial Industries in Ethiopia; and Motivation and Implementation of University Industry Linkage in Ethiopia Higher Education Institutions Were Presented on the Workshop.

Dr. Ing. Wondwossen Bogale, Director, UIL and Technology Transfer, AAU in his part noted internship is undoubtedly necessary to make effective and efficient University-Industry-Linkage for knowledge and technology transfer from University to the industry.
