AAU, Japan Embassy ink deal
A grant contract for a total of USD 137,187 was signed between the Embassy of Japan and the Addis Ababa University, College of Health Sciences.
The signing ceremony for “The Project for Improving Neurology Department and Emergency Department Medical Equipment of Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa” through the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects was held on 14 December 2018 in the presence of H.E Mr. Daisuke Matsunaga, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ethiopia.
Ambassador Daisuke Matsunaga, in his message, mentioned that over 400 projects have been implemented in different regions of the country since GGP was introduced in 1989.
The GGP focuses on community development issues such as education, vocational training, water and sanitation, economic growth, health, food security and so forth.
The GGP supports needy communities by helping them access school education, medical services and related basic human needs, as it is one of the key policy areas for the Japan-Ethiopia relationship.
