AAU holds the First National Research Conference on Business and Economics
The College of Business and Economics of the AAU held the first National Research Conference on contemporary Business and Economics issues on September 5, 2017 at the Faculty hall.
In his welcoming speech, Dean of the college of Business and Economics, Yitbarek Takele (Ph.D.), announced the College’s plans to make the conference an annual event. He also revealed intentions to follow it by an international conference expected to attract leading scholars from all over the world. He stated issues such as structural challenges of our economy, economic transformation, structural problems in our financial sector, three legged economy problems in balance of trade and payment, unemployment, the role of private sector in developmental state and regional economic integrations as those dealt with by the conference.
Jeilu Oumer (Ph.D.), Guest of honor and Academic Vice President of the AAU, extended his sincere gratitude to the organizers, hosting institutions and the College of Business and Economics for having successfully organized the conference. He further said: “I not only expect this conference to spark debate and discussion on ideas and research but also reckon it will indicate how business education is supported by research and promote solutions for local and regional challenges in the fields of business and economics.”
A number of research works on business and economics were presented by scholars during the conference. The day also featured interaction discussion with participants.
