As the President stated, the campaign was started last year appreciating PM Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s green initiative to tackle climate change vulnerability.
AAU community is ready to plant more than 40 thousand trees with promises of follow up to grow 90 to 100 percent in this year’s movement alone, Prof Tassew intensified.
The planting campaign in the AAU campuses, said Professor Tassew, will focus on with special selection of indigenous pants which vitally fit the Beautification Master Plan of the University.
According to Professor Tassew Woldehanna, AAU has institutions which care for environmental healing by conducting research with special attention of East Africa as a whole. It is the idea that taken from those researches became the base for our Green Legacy Campaign, he added.
Professor Tassew elaborated that every exposed area wherever in the country should be covered with plants and regular follow up to those trees has to be taken as the vital one.
The most possible care for COVID-19 transmission must be noted while the Green Legacy Campaign is going on, Prof Tassew Woldehanna finally advised.
