AAU, ESLSE sign agreement
The Addis Ababa University (AAU) and Ethiopian Shipping and Logistic Services Enterprise (ESLSE) signed collaborative agreement to cooperate on capacity building strategy on March 3, 2017 at the Office of the President.
The agreement entails technical assistance, short term training, students’ internship and graduate program for ESLSE staff.
Based on the agreement, Addis Ababa University will offer technical assistance, short term and long term trainings to the ESLSE staff and the ESLSE entertains AAU’s students by providing internship opportunity.
The win-win strategic agreement is a stepping stone to boost university-industry linkage.
Speaking on the ceremony, Professor Admasu Tsegaye, president of the university, noted that Addis Ababa University has immense potential in teaching and research that can address the needs of the society in various ways.
Mesfin Tefera, CEO of ESLSE in his part, noted that in the current dynamic and competitive world, continuous training enables workers to adjust themselves to new innovations and build their capacity in a way that can make their organization competitive at regional and global levels.“ In addition to their cost effectiveness, local University offers demand oriented training based on needs assessment; the agreement will pave a way to offer training to our staff, get technical assistance, access for masters program and capacity building in research to generate policy,” says the CEO.
Professor Admasu Tsegaye, President of AAU and Mesfin Tefera, CEO, have signed the agreement on behalves of the AAU and ESLSE respectively.
