Addis Ababa University (AAU) and Wegagen Bank S.C signed Contractual Agreement on Research Service which shall be effective as of November 20, 2023 and shall remain in force until  May 30, 2023.

The Agreement aims to assess the resource mobilization landscape of the Bank and to conduct survey on the Bank’s brand perception.

Aklilu Wubet (PhD), Chief Executive Officer of Wagagen Bank S.C  and Samuel Kifle (PhD, Interim President of Addis Ababa University ssigned the Memorandum of Partnerships during the event Organized at the Bank’s Headquarters.

Dr. Samuel said on the signing ceremony that AAU has been signing similar agreements to work together with various industries, but banking industry is given  a special place, and that the University is trying to separate itself from government budget and is working hard to create its own income resources.

Samuel explained that Addis Ababa University is taking lessons and practices from successful private sectors and has started working with them in order to become an example of a resource-allocator and saver higher education institution.

“We need experienced professionals from Wegagen Bank who are well-versed in banking and finance so that our students and researchers can get practical education and develop practical experience,” Dr. Samuel elaborated further.

Dr. Aklilu Wubet expressed that modern digital knowledge is very much needed to manage and run every transaction and financial activity of the bank in a modern way and in that AAU will provide remarkable assistance in training the Bank’s professional human resources.

He further remarked that the signing of the partnership agreement would pave the way for future collaborative endeavors between the two parties.
