Gold Medalist graduates of 2017/18 from all universities in Ethiopia visited different places including Office of the Prime Minister and attended motivational speech delivered by high profile personalities.

As part of the event, Addis Ababa University invited Gold Medalists of the 2017/2018 graduates at Nelson Mandela Hall on 25th July, 2018. The event was organized by office of the Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer of the Addis Ababa University.

Professor Zerihun Woldu, A/ Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, AAU, extended his congratulatory message to the medalists and urged them to move forward in order to achieve their goal.

During the event high profile personalities including athlete Shaleka  Haile Gebreslassie; Yetnebersh Niguisse, Human Rights and Disability Issues Activist; Dr. Belachew Girma, Investment Commission, Commissioner; Hanna Arayaslassie, Lawyer;  Mr.Hadis Alemayehu  and Henok Tessema  who have been working  in different fields  and considered as icons of successes were invited as guest of honors to share their experiences. These honorable guests inspired the medalists with their wonderful speech and shared their life experiences.

Addressing the medalists Yetnebersh urged the medalist to be passionate, courageous and purposeful to attain their goal.

Taking the opportunity Shaleka Haile Gebreslassie in his part appreciated the medalist for their unprecedented achievement and said that when you’re going through tough times, all you need is sympathy; hence be persistent and work hard for further awards.

The occasion was very auspicious moment for the medalists motivating them for more races when going to wider world.
