The Language Studies Centre is one of the centers under the Academy of Ethiopian Languages and Cultures of Addis Ababa University. It began its operations together with the other centers of the Academy after the re-structuring of the Academy since 2010. The Center is entrusted with doing viable researches on various Ethiopian languages. The Center has short term as well as long term priority areas in the research of Ethiopian languages. These are stated in the five year Strategic Plan of the Academy, which became operational since 2020. It works on projects of the Center as well as in collaboration with other researchers of the Academy as well as other institutions to contribute its own share and address language related problems, so that solutions are envisaged.
